Summary:
Produced in 1994 and Directed by Andrew Fleming and three main characters were respectively performed by Lara Flynn Boyle as Alex, Stephen Baldwin Starring Stuart and Josh Charles for Eddy.
College girl Alex was assigned to a male dormitory by mistakes, with the mild-tempered Eddy and Jock Stuart. They made an agreement that they will maintain their status quo not involving in a dual relationship to protect their pure friendship as a trio team. The funny thing in the movie is Alex falls for the She-male Eddy who have a crush for Stuart, and Stuart want to be with Alex badly. In the end they drifted apart and lived a separate life, with Alex stayed single, Stuart got married and Eddy found his boyfriend.

Analysis:
The Threesome is a hilarious movie and time killing movie but as Wiki quotes:
"Upon release, the film received negative reviews. The review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes reported that 26% of critics gave Threesome positive reviews, based on 23 reviews. Critics such as Roger Ebert felt that film was unfunny, and that "Like many kids their age, these three are more bold in talk than action, and the movie sounds right; it sounds like undergraduate human dialogue, intended to shock, to liberate, to amuse."

My understanding as an international student will reckon this movie as an absolute incomprehensible subject to tease about in U.S, and trio living in the same dorm is considered crossing the moral line and the movie theme seems a bit lacking reality foundation, or a bit too much fantasy of the director.

Reaction:
It's a movie released in the early 1990s and it helped to pave the way for more openness in American movie culture about human sexuality and more positive portrayals of a Gay Character. And believe it or not, the Critics are more giving a negative feedback, and audience doesn't favor that much of a movie that loses real touch of campus life.
